My good ol' Pig brother commented on the attitude of young staff nowadays which got me thinking on this junior who likes to come and look for me on this process improvement project that she is doing. However after many consultation sessions I felt like I am the one doing the improvement project. I lamented to Nite that every time she come and see me, I had to potong her markah. I can literally feel myself mentally deducting marks like this..
Jr : Harlo, can I bother you? Want to see you on my project again ( 100)
Me: *groan* yeah, see me at 2.00pm
~~~ 2pm~~~~
Jr: Can you give me Z table ? ( -10)
Me : Eh... I give you before some months back wooo. Give you and your boss too.
Jr: Er ha ha ha... can send again or not yea? (-15)
Me: Ok lar I resend.
Jr : Erm actually hor, I want to ask you about the O again. If the data entered does not match Table Z, then can I skip the O checking? (-5)
Me: Um, no..remember I explain adi, you will still have to go through the O checking.
Jr: Oh, So If the data match the Table Z then can skip checking rite? ( -10)
Me: Its irrelevant, even if it match or don't match it will check. *grumble*
Jr: But why... data match ma, why still check some more ( -30)
Me: Cause its a different sort of checking. Thought I mention this rite...
Jr: Mmm, I think system got problem. Got some checking not there. I got proof ( +10)
Me : *sigh* Ok I check..
Jr: Then hor, then hor, I see some data entry got extra data one. I don't see it in Table Z wo.
Me: Mmm, sorry I also don't know about it.
Jr: Oh how ar then? ( - 50)
Me: *blink* ... mah I check and find out lor....
Jr : Oh ok.. you find out and tell me la har.... how the system store the extra value... ( -5)
Me: *nod*
Jr: Thanks ar.. ( -5)
Does she think I got all my knowledge from sitting there and asking people to do my work? Something is definitely wrong the milk powder they are spoon feeding the babies nowadays.
